   The time has come for a new era of Riordan. The first book in a Norse mythology series has been released, and wow did it impress me! It was exactly what I expected and nothing like I expected at the same time. Rick Riordan, you've done it again. You've woven a beautiful tale from the legends of generations passed. I simply cannot express how much I loved this book without revealing too much, so please, I beg you, pick up a copy of The Sword of Summer. *****SPOILERS*****     This book surprised me in so many ways. In a way, I was expecting another series starter like The Lightning Thief , but this....I don't want to say better because TLT will always have a special place in my heart, but in a way, it was. I've been saying for years, that Heroes of Olympus would make an amazing YA series if Riordan added cursing, slightly more gore, and more romance.   Okay I lied. It's not actually that big of a book haul but it's the biggest one I've ever done. This is every book I've bought since my last book haul in February and it's gonna be a doozy. Let us begin!  1. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo    I read  Shadow and Bone  two years ago, and I absolutely loved it! When  Siege and Storm  was released, I immediately bought it, but never got around to reading it. So when I saw an autographed copy of  Ruin and Rising  on the shelf of my local bookstore, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to marathon the series. These books were incredible, but sadly I read them during exam time and was unable to write a review after I finished them. I might get around to rereading them sometime soon.  2.   Can we just talk about life for a second? Something just happened to me that really got me thinking.    Flashback to about 2 hours ago. I'm hungry, peering in the fridge (as you do), when I get the idea to make a smoothie. I saw some recipes online, I'm gonna make a bitchin' smoothie and be Pinterest af.    So I saunter on over to the pantry to collect my ingredients and as I do that, I remember that the peanut butter jar is untouched. Now this might not mean anything to you, but to me, being the first to open the peanut butter is a pain in the butt. There's oil in the top that has to be distributed so the peanut butter doesn't dry out which is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. As I start to complain about the dry peanut butter I'm about to eat, I remember that we have a stirrer!    Now I've never used it before, but I opted to just figure it out.   Now, this going to sound a little preposterous, but I am genuinely upset. I just wanted to say a little disclaimer that I acknowledge the fact that I am petty and there are children starving in Africa, but that doesn't make me any less angry.    I don't normally go to Barnes & Noble because my closest bookstore is Books A Million, but I do love the reader-author connection at B&N. They offer lots of signed copies and special editions that I relish when I arrive there. It's also the choice bookstore of many booktubers.    I've also never had problems with B&N before.   The Iron Trial  is two parts Harry Potter, one part Percy Jackson, and all parts awesome. When Callum Hunt miraculously passes the iron trial, he is admitted in to the Magisterium, a Hogwarts-esque magic school for those with power over the elements. He makes some friends and a few enemies as he learns his away around the principles of magic and the endless caverns of the Magisterium. YA authors, Cassandra Clare and Holly Black have excelled in the middle grade genre in their first collaboration.  *****SPOILERS*****   I was very surprised by this book because it was nothing like I thought it was going to be. It went above and beyond all of my expectations.   As I mentioned before, the setting of this book was extremely reminiscent of Harry Potter.   So I have recently discovered some things about Cassandra Clare's plans for the future that I thought the fandom would appreciate knowing. Many of you may already be familiar with this news, but I am so excited and I want to share it with  those who don't! WARNING: this contains spoilers for both current series.  1. Multiple New Series   This is most definitely old news, but I thought it needed to be said. Cassandra currently has two series making up the Shadowhunter Chronicles, The Mortal Instruments  and The Infernal Devices. Right now she is in the process of writing the first book, Lady Midnight, of The Dark Artifices (TDA) series, or as I called it until recently, The Dark Artifacts. Whoops.    Lady Midnight is set to be released in March of 2016. I am super excited that TDA is going to be a trilogy as I, personally, liked TID much more than TMI.
